Update: Russia Adoption Program
For the past several months, Christian World Adoption has been working to attain our reaccreditation in Russia so that we can continue to place children from this country. On December 28th, 2006, CWA submitted all the required documents for reaccreditation to the Ministry of Education.
But as many probably know already, the majority of American adoption agencies got their accreditation documents back from the Russian Federation Ministry of Education for additions and re-wording, and CWA was among those agencies. Our documents were returned to us last Friday (March 2, 2007).
CWA staff in Russia and in the United States made it a priority to work on the corrections of those documents, and they were completed in the most expeditious manner. The CWA Moscow staff will resubmit the documents to the Ministry of Education again this week.
According to Ministry of Education regulations we should get their final decision about CWA accreditation in Russia within the next 60 days. However, we should bear in mind that the ultimate decision and time frame are at the discretion of the Ministry of Education, and we must continue to wait. As always, CWA will keep you posted on any new information we receive.
This week, March 14th through March 18th, CWA directors, program managers and CWA representatives from all the Russian regions where CWA works will be meeting in Moscow for the conference to discuss new international adoption requirements and our work schedule for 2007.
We understand that this is a very emotional process for those families currently in the Russia program, as it is for us. Each day in the life of a child is so important, and we trust God to show His mercy to them. Thank you for your prayers and support! |
