Update: Kazakhstan Adoption Program
A Christian World Adoption Kazakhstan program family who recently traveled to Kazakhstan gladly reports that the adoption program continues to work well. The actual overall adoption time frame has become shorter than it has been in previous years. In the upcoming four months, we may have several families who (without any delays) may be able to complete their entire adoptions in less than six months.
There is also a positive change in the position of the Kazakhstan authorities regarding the adoption of two unrelated children. This situation has changed, and a family may adopt a second unrelated child after they have been home with the first child for more than 60 days.
Families who wish to do this should inform the American Embassy officer in Almaty not to close their CIS file during their first child’s Immigrant Visa interview if they would like to adopt a second child under the same CIS approval. Also, families choosing to do this do not need to prepare an additional dossier for the second unrelated child.
Adoption of siblings is always welcomed. In special cases escort of a child to the U.S. is possible too.
Kazakhstan is currently the only country where parents may hope to adopt a 7-8 months old infant of any gender. The most recent two CWA adoption families brought home an eight months boy and a seven months girl. Children of any ethnicity are available – there should be no problem for a family who wants to adopt a Caucasian child. Parents are invited to travel to Kazakhstan only when a referral of a child is available for them to meet and accept. All CWA Kazakhstan Program families believe they have adopted children in good health. Reference families of CWA Kazakhstan program are ready to share their adoption experience with newly registered CWA prospective adoptive parents.
The Kazakhstan program’s ability to offer very young children for adoption is a strong feature, and we hope this will attract many more families who are willing to adopt
this year.
We hope and pray that in the future CWA Kazakhstan program will grow, and many more families will be bringing their children home.
