Update: Guatemala Adoption Program
In February, Fiona Sanderson and Nancy Brown traveled to Guatemala to attend the “Solutions” conference in Guatemala City. The changes that will need to take place in Guatemala once the U.S. implements the Hague Treaty were the main focus of the conference. No concrete decisions about the changes were made at that time.
While in Guatemala, Fiona and Nancy were able also to meet and take videos of all of the children who are in the adoption process with CWA. We plan to send these to the prospective adoptive families.
While this is a time of instability for adoptions from Guatemala, things continue to move relatively well right now. |
