Update: China Adoption Program
The China Center of Adoption Affairs recently mailed referrals for families with log-in dates from October 13th-24th, 2005. From this, we can see that the referral wait time has grown to 17-18 months, and it is expected to continue getting longer before it starts improving.
Despite this hard news, Christian World Adoption’s China parents continue to be committed to their adoption plans. We have heard from many parents about the life lessons that this long wait has taught them, and especially about ways in which God has blessed their families during this time. This is an inspiration for us as well! We in the China program have a lot of respect for the patience and perseverance of the China families.
CWA may have as many as 20 families traveling to China in late March! This is a very large group for us, and it requires a lot of planning. The reason for the large number is that there is no adoption travel during the last two weeks of April and the first week of May. (There is an enormous trade fair in Guangzhou during the last two weeks of April, and the first week of May is a holiday week in China.) So we are doing our best to get these eager families to China to meet their children! God grant them safe travels and good beginnings with their little ones! |
