Food4Kids Exceeds Goal
In October, Christian World Foundation (CWF) set a goal of raising $30,000 through the Food4Kids project, in order to distribute food for hungry children in Ethiopia. In a just ten weeks the goal was met -- and exceeded!
As construction plans for Acacia Village are finalized, CWF wanted to put the land to use by setting up a temporary food distribution site. CWF will be able to provide food for hungry children in the community surrounding the Acacia Village land. Utilizing existing CWA infrastructure in Ethiopia, CWF will be able to mobilize nutritional supplies with very low administrative costs.
As famine continues in Ethiopia, we are excited to provide some relief for those who need it the most. We will be bringing you updates on the progress of the Food4Kids distribution in future eNews stories.
Hendersonville Printing Donates Contest Winnings to Acacia Village
Hendersonville Printing, the company that provides CWA with much of its printing needs, chose Acacia Village as the charity to receive donations from a Christmas tree display contest. The contest was hosted at Asheville Regional Airport through the Christmas holidays. The tree was beautifully decorated with large framed photos of children and families from Ethiopia.
The Acacia Village entry was awarded first prize and a donation of $1200. Deepest thanks and gratitude go to Steve Piper, the new owner and president of HPC Print, and Wendy Ripaldi, who volunteered her time and talents to make the tree ornaments and decorations! Thank you for helping to spread the word about Acacia Village and bless waiting children in Ethiopia.
Hope Project Update
CWA was selected as one of three agencies by the CCAA to help place waiting children in China as a part of the Hope Project. To date, 13 of the 23 waiting children have been placed in loving families! Many people, including many of you, have prayed for these precious children. Those prayers have been answered. CWA will be given future opportunities to place more children through the Hope Project. In addition to the Hope Project, CWA has other waiting children available from China. If you are interested in learning more about adopting one of these children, please visit our website, or contact our office. |
