Update: Ukraine Adoption Program
Dear Parents,
Adoptions in Ukraine continue to pick up speed. Ukraine's adoption authority continues to enact a new policy that dossier's will be reviewed and approved within 10 business days of submission. Then, parents will receive an invitation to travel in approximately two months! That's just about 60 days after dossier approval!
As additional evidence of this new policy in action, Ukraine State Department for Adoption and Protection Rights of Children (SDAPRC) has issued a referral appointment date to the 4th CWA family. Look at the time frame of the dossier process in Ukraine yourself:
1. The dossier was sent to Ukraine at the end of December 2006.
2. It was registered with SDAPRC on January 15, 2007.
3. An appointment date was issued on January 22nd for the 15th of March, 2007!
We estimate that at the rate Ukraine is currently processing dossiers, CWA could eventually handle up to 10 adoptions per month – which is a realistic goal if the CWA Ukraine program gets more registrations!
