We Believe That God is in Control of Our Agency and Your Adoption  ::  Feburary 2007

CWA is happy to report that the Kazakhstan program continues to work well. The actual overall adoption time frame is becoming shorter than it has been in previous years. In the upcoming four months, we may have three families who, without any delays may be able to complete their entire adoptions in less than six months.

These adoptive parents started preparing their dossier documents after the approval of their home study. By the time the families got their USCIS approval, their dossiers may already be completed, and can be sent for translation.

Our CWA coordinator in Kazakhstan prefers a 2-trip option for parents, and she informed CWA that she will insist on 2-trip adoption process in 2007. This process consists of a 25 day first trip (includes travel), and a 7 day second trip (includes travel) of just one parent or both parents, to pick up their child in Almaty.

Kazakhstan is currently the only country where parents may hope to adopt a 7-8 month old infant of any gender. The most recent two CWA families brought home an eight month old boy and a seven month old girl. Children of any ethnicity are available – there should be no problem for a family who wants to adopt a Caucasian child. Parents are invited to travel to Kazakhstan only when a referral of a child is available for them to meet and accept. All CWA Kazakhstan Program families believe they have adopted children in good health. Reference families of CWA Kazakhstan program are ready to share their adoption experience with newly registered CWA Prospective Adoptive Parents.

There is still an unofficial position of Kazakhstan authorities in place, which may prevent families from adopting two unrelated children during one adoption trip. We hope this situation may change to the better in the near (about one/two month) future. Adoption of siblings is welcomed. In special cases, the escort of a child to the USA is possible too.

The Kazakhstan program’s ability to offer very young children for adoption is a strong feature, and we hope this will attract many more families who are willing to adopt
 this year.
We hope and pray that in the future CWA Kazakhstan program will grow, and many more families will be bringing their children home.
