God Honors Bold Obedience

justin.arnot“If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” Daniel 3:17-18

A certain young man was 12 years old when he began a movement of collecting loose change in order to buy women and children out of modern day slavery. It led to his creation of an organization which collects funds raised by other people like him who were repeatedly told that they were “too young to make a difference.” Hundreds of thousands have been raised and used to support the work of organizations fighting human trafficking, modern day slavery and similar causes. The young man cited as his inspiration the verse Isaiah 1:17 “Learn to do good; seek justice, rebuke the oppressor; defend the fatherless, plead for the widow.”

Tomilee and Bob Harding have been just stubborn and faithful enough to believe that God loves children and that we as individuals can do something for those without families. And look what he has done and is continuing to do! Over 6,000 children have found permanent, loving homes through the work of Christian World Adoption.

Don’t ever be discouraged that your work or service to others doesn’t make a difference or that you only affect a small number of lives – what others do or say to you doesn’t change the fact that there is a God in heaven who empowers your work. “For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose.” Philippians 2:13.

May God bless you!

    Amen!
I think that the enemy would often want us to be frustrated or discouraged with the thought that the task is too big. But our God is able to multiple our last ounce of strength, our last penny, our last whispered prayer before sleep, in ways our minds can’t comprehend.
Praise God that He is faithful and has given His children a spirit of perseverance and the power in Him to move mountians!
