The Walters Family
To make a long story short, Ben and I were married in 2006. Shortly after we knew we wanted a family, but knew that giving birth to a child wasn't what God had in store for us. We are not sure when, how, or why adoption became our first choice for our first child, but it was. God puts things on peoples hearts, and it is our duty to follow through!
Fast Forward to March of 2009 and we applied to Christian World Adoption's Ethiopia program. We had been saving money and preparing our hearts for a little one and decided that it was time to let God take control and finish the rest for us. Though we were not sure how to afford it or what the future would hold, God did.
Sure enough, God provided and paved the way for us and led us to November of 2010 when we received our referral of a precious 3 month old little girl. Her name was Hana and we were overjoyed and thankful for what God had given us! We traveled for our court date in February 2011 and met our daughter for the first time. Its hard to put into words the emotions you feel when you hold your child for the first time, but you almost get a glimpse of how great God's love is for us. Months later, we traveled to pick up Hana and bring her home. Praise the Lord for putting adoption on both of our hearts and carrying us through until the end. Though the road may be long and hard, it is worth every second of it!
God is so good, and we are ever grateful for what He has done! We are now a happy family of three and could not imagine life any other way. To God be the glory!
