Adoption & the Kingdom of God
What could be closer to the heart of God our Father
than adoption? Think about it, many well known Biblical persons
were adopted: Moses, Esther, and even Jesus was adopted by Joseph.
We believe that adoption is the natural equivalent of the supernatural
act of becoming a member of God’s family.
Orphan. It can be either a lack of natural parentage
or spiritual parentage. Yet all over the world there are tens of
thousands of children who are what we call total orphans: children
who have no father, no mother, and no family to love and care for
them.
Adoption is hope for the orphan. Since 1991,
Christian World Adoption has helped place thousands of orphans
into loving, permanent families. Once these children had little
or no hope of a bright future. Now they have parents, a family,
and a home they call their own.
Christian World Adoption’s mission is to help
unite these orphans with loving, forever families. If the Lord
truly places the lonely in families, then we see ourselves as His
heart and hands fulfilling the command to help orphans in their
distress—bringing hope to children who endure lives of loneliness,
neglect and poverty.
We believe that adoption is a wonderful way to reach
out to “the least of these.” We believe that the people
of God should have more than just a passing involvement in the
lives of the world’s orphans. We believe the body of Christ,
themselves secure in God’s love through adoption, can best
serve these needy children. Since we have so freely received, let
us also freely give! Adoption is a very practical opportunity to
love our neighbors as ourselves, and to take God’s message
of redemption and life to the world. Who knows how the Lord may
use these children in the future to touch their birth countries
with the good news of Jesus Christ?
There are many families who will open their hearts
and homes to orphans from Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and Latin
America. Christian World is here to help envision and encourage
believers to pray, to adopt, and offer financial assistance to
qualifying families who desire to adopt but lack the funds.
There are many ways the Church can impact the world
for Christ. We believe that international adoption is an incredibly
effective way to communicate, and demonstrate, the love of God
to a lost world, one child at a time.
