Hague Accreditation
The U.S. Department of State website lists Christian World Adoption as an accredited agency to provide international adoption services under the Hague Convention on Intercountry Adoption
On February 29, 2008, Christian World Adoption in Flat Rock, NC was listed among the U.S. adoption agencies that may provide international adoption services with those nations also under Hague Convention. The Council On Accreditation (COA) conducted the rigorous accreditation process for most U.S. adoption agencies.
The Hague Convention on Intercountry Adoption is an international treaty that provides protections for children that are adopted internationally. CWA’s Hague Accreditation is essential for our agency to continue providing intercountry adoption services after April 1, 2008.
Hague accreditation reflects CWA’s compliance with high ethical standards of practice, and helps further ensure protection for children. CWA works with several countries for international adoption, but not all of the countries we work with have ratified the Hague Convention. Hague accreditation standards apply only to countries that have ratified and implemented the Hague Convention.
